(ALLHIHOP) Authorities are still investigating an attack on Civil Rights organization the NAACP, after an explosive device was detonated outside of a Colorado Springs location on January 6. Though no injuries were reported, there was “minimal surface charring to the exterior wall of the building.” Many are calling the attack a hate crime similar to the string of bombings that targeted minorities during the Civil Rights movement, including the now infamous church bombing of 1963 that resulted in the death of four young girls in Birmingham, Alabama.
The FBI has advised that “a potential person of interest in this investigation is a Caucasian male, approximately 40 years of age and balding. He may be driving a 2000 or older model dirty, white pick-up truck with paneling, a dark colored bed liner, open tailgate and a missing or covered license plate.”
